Job summary

We have exciting opportunities for Clinical Coders to support the Trust in providing reliable and accurate clinically coded data for all inpatient and outpatient activity.

You must be educated to A level standard or equivalent relevant passes. It is desirable that the successful applicant will have previous NHS experience and a basic knowledge of anatomy and physiology.

Full training and support will be provided

Main duties of the job

To extract relevant information from case notes/source documents to enable coding of clinical activity. To critically analyse the data from all available sources relevant to the episode of care and investigate and interpret the information to determine the appropriate coding translation, using ICD10 (diagnostic codes) and OPCS4 (procedure codes), into a form that can be tabulated, aggregated and sorted for statistical analysis applying national and international rules and conventions to agreed standards.

Qualifications

Essential

  • NHS experience.
