Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen with the TB team based at The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital and The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford.Applications are invited from enthusiastic candidates who are highly motivated and have a passion for providing a high quality of care in our TBteam. The post holder will work across both hospital sites and in the community, including patient's homes, schools, work environments and carry out interventions such as assessments and Directly Observed Therapy.

The successful applicant would be joining a team who are committed to the service and who are constantly driving the service forward. We areeager to attract a motivated person to help expand the role and develop a unique and challenging role. You should have the ability to developskills to manage a designated caseload of patients. The post holder will be required to be flexible to meet the changing needs of the service.

Main duties of the job

Working closely with colleagues, successful applicants can anticipate a full and active role in providing standard case management to individualsbeing investigated and treated for latent TB, active TB and Non Tuberculous Mycobacterium. This will include contact tracing/screening andcohort review.

You must demonstrate skills in effective communication, problem solving and ability to prioritise; support clinical staff in inpatient/outpatientsettings and contribute to MDT decisions about patient care. You will also be required to support with training and development of hospital staffand the wider community. As a TB Nurse specialist you will closely with Respiratory consultants, microbiology, public health England, and othercolleagues in TB services to deliver high quality and patient focused care in line with local, regional and national TB guidelines.

  • RGN/RN Adult
  • Master's degree or evidence of working at master's level.

Desirable

  • Non Medical Prescribing Qualification
