Job summary
We are looking for two enthusiastic, HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists, with relevant post-registration experience to join the multidisciplinary team in Haematology, Blood Transfusion and Biochemistry. One post is based at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford (PRH) and the other at The Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Hospital, Oswestry (RJAH).
We would consider a newly registered BMS at Band 5 who we would support to gain their specialist knowledge.
At PRH we are looking to appoint a Specialist Biomedical Scientist to assist with the provision of a diagnostic service and support the delivery of a 24 hour per day, 7 days per week service as part of a 37.5 hour working week - including evenings, nights, weekends and bank/public holidays.
At RJAH we are looking to appoint a Specialist Biomedical Scientist to assist with the provision of a diagnostic service working predominantly core day shifts and occasional weekends.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be expected to train in relevant disciplines and to rotate through all sections of the department. You may be required to work on any of our other sites, as the need arises.
The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital (SaTH) Pathology Services are accredited to UKAS standards, providing Pathology services on three sites. The Biochemistry sections are equipped with Roche C311/Cobas 6000 analysers and Roche pre-analytics and middleware. The Haematology section is equipped with a Sysmex XN and CS2500 analysers. Automated Biorad Equipment is in use in the Blood Transfusion Department. The department is an approved IBMS/HCPC training laboratory and continuous professional development is actively encouraged.

Oswestry is a beautiful historic market town on the border of Wales.

- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
- Relevant IBMS Specialist Diploma(s)
