Our Catering Team play an essential role within the trust, responsible for catering at ward level and commercial outlets across both our hospital sites.
We are recruiting Senior Catering Assistants at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust and are looking for individuals who share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive a quality meals service.
We have flexible hours vacancy opportunities and would be happy to discuss hours and shift patterns with successful candidates.
Example for a 20-hour post below-
20 hours per week with alternate weekend working different shift patterns over two week set rota e.g., 7.15 am - 11.15am or 11.30 am 15.30pm or 16.00pm -20.00pm
Actual Salary Range for 20 hours - £10,743 - £11,299. On top of this we pay enhanced rates for Saturday, Sunday, Bank Holidays, and evenings.
Hourly rate on entry £10.37 for Monday to Friday 7.15 am - 8.00 pm, £14.62 all day Saturday and £18.98 all day Sunday and Bank Holidays.
Main duties of the job
The key purpose of the role is to provide a high-quality comprehensive Catering service, basing our principles of a HACCP food safety system, completing relevant forms, ensuring excellent catering standards within Wards, Commercial Outlets & Departments within our Hospital setting. We have a regen food service which encompasses specialist catering diets.
Main duties will include serving meals at ward level from a regen trolley working in partnership with ward staff, working in the pick pack area in the main kitchen, washing up at ward level or in the main wash up area within the catering department, topping up stock levels at ward level using first in first out method, cleaning the main catering areas and if needed working within our commercial outlets.
