This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse or Allied Healthcare Professional to support high quality care provision through providing clinical leadership for the implementation of a new electronic patient record for the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals NHS Trust.

This is a critical time in the Trust's digital journey with developments taking place that will significantly improve patient safety and quality of care. You will help to lead a wide range of projects including electronic observations, digital prescribing and administration, new patient flow boards, electronic records and a range of other projects.

The Digital Specialist Nurse/AHP will support colleagues to understand and make optimal use of the new systems being implemented. This will involve ensuring the provision of support and training and ensuring competencies are met and users are supported to provide ongoing feedback.

Working across both sites you will maintain a high profile in clinical areas, resolving issues and ensuring an inclusive approach to digital change.

Main duties of the job

Key Responsibilities:

  • Role modelling the Trust Values and professional standards
  • Leading a network of change agents, digital nurses and training/floorwalking team members
  • Providing clinical leadership and experience to a range of digital/clinical projects
  • Representing the digital nursing team in a range of forums
  • Providing training, support, motivation and encouragement to teams managing complex change
  • Negotiating successful outcomes where resistance and challenges are encountered
  • Communicating digital transformation ambitions and opportunities to the wider workforce

About us

Working as part of the Digital Programme team within the digital department you will work autonomously, within the boundaries of the role, as well as, importantly, being part of a team.

You will be supported by the wider digital team to deliver services designed around supporting end users and show an ability to learn and respond to demands in a fast-paced environment

Essential

  • Relevant Healthcare Degree
  • Registration with appropriate Professional Body (NMC/AHP)

Desirable

  • Project/change management qualification/training
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional development/qualification relevant to area of speciality.

Experience

Essential

  • Considerable experience as a practicing nurse/AHP within an acute hospital
  • Experience of working at a leadership level, demonstrating a record of achievement
  • Experience of using clinical information systems
  • Experience and knowledge of the wider NHS Informatics agenda
  • Experience of multi-agency working
  • Ability to work successfully with a broad range of health and social care partners, patients, carers and professionals
