The Head of Capital will be responsible for managing Backlog Capital and Minor Projects for the Trust which can vary from several hundred thousand to several million pounds -
- Including resource management and programme budgets.
- Planning, monitoring and controlling all aspects of agreed portfolio programme to ensure cost effective.
- Ensure Trust's strategic goals are met.
Main duties of the job
To manage a programme of capital projects which includes a range of schemes within the approved capital programme, accurately reporting on progress to Capital Planning Group. It is anticipated that the capital programme will be of a minimum value of circa £140m over the 5 - 10 year, Investment programme, as approved by Trust

Qualifications
Essential
- Post-graduate degree, BSc or equivalent experience in building or chartered cost surveying, Engineering, Construction or design.
- Recognised qualification in Surveying - RICS, Construction - MIOB, Engineering or Project Management
Desirable
- Masters level MSc or equivalent professional qualification or substantial equivalent experience
Knowledge/Experience
Essential
- Recent experience of delivering a major capital construction or infrastructure project to time, cost and quality
- Experience of producing business cases for capital projects
- Track record in the procurement of services and/or buildings from the private sector, using the appropriate procurement routes
Desirable
- Recent senior project management experience dealing with major construction schemes in a healthcare environment.
- Recent senior management experience in a large, complex organization
