Job summary
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated part-time Staff Nurse to join our team within Gynaecology Outpatient's.
The candidate willlearn how to operate equipment for gynaecological day case procedures such as hysteroscopy, myosures and colposcopy.
You will needto be flexible as working at both ThePrincess Royal Hospital, Telford andThe Royal Shrewsbury Hospitalsitesare required.
This is a post requiring the successful candidate to work both weekdays and weekends.
A desire to learn and take on new challenges is essential for this post.
Main duties of the job
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of individualised patient care, working in partnership with patients, their carers and the multi-disciplinary team to ensure the patient's physical, spiritual and emotional needs are met.
- Ensure patient safety is maintained at all times. Record and report adverse and potentially adverse events and assist with investigation of such events, ensuring learning is shared with the wider team(s).
- Record information about patients in a safe, accurate and consistent manner using appropriate tools and techniques, including electronic and written formats as close to point of care as possible.
- Access and use patient clinical diagnostic information to inform clinical decisions.
- Make appropriate and timely referrals to members of the multi-disciplinary team and external agencies to ensure patients' on-going physical, spiritual, emotional and social needs are met.
About us
The Department has various clinics; colposcopy, hysteroscopy, cystoscopy, consultation and specialist clinics. The successful applicant will be trained to manage scopes and assist with diagnostic procedures and treatments at The Princess Royal Hospital, Telford and The Royal Shrewsbury Hospital, rotating within the clinics.
The role also requires use of IT, accurate written documentation, recording patient information, logging and sending specimens. Ensuring the clinic environment is clean tidy and running efficiently, trolleys stocked and any issues reported. Working within department policies, procedures and guidelines.
