Job summary
The post holder will support the Legal Services Manager and Head of Legal Services in providing an effective and efficient legal service for the Trust.
They will assist in the operational management of clinical negligence, employers and public liability claims, claims for reimbursement of lost/damaged property and any associated work and will update and maintain accurate data to facilitate reporting. The post holder will also contribute to the Trust's Clinical Governance processes.
The post holder will have experience of working in a legal environment and possess a high level of resilience, tenacity and integrity. Great attention to detail, good organisational and communication skills are also required in this role. The successful applicant will need to have experience dealing with the general public; they will have good IT skills and remain calm under pressure in this challenging role. Good telephone skills, confidence and a positive helpful manner is essential.

Main duties of the job
As Legal Services Officer the post holder will hold a level of responsibility within the team for providing an exemplary service in the business administration of processes, team databases, responding to enquiries via email, telephone or in person, assisting staff in preparation of witness statements, supporting staff attending court hearings and liaising with NHS Resolution and the Trust's Panel Solicitors.
