This is a chance for you to make a real difference to patient care whilst developing your knowledge and skills of working in an Emergency Department further.

Main duties of the job

Members of the Senior Nursing Team will require strong management and leadership qualities, whilst overseeing the team to deliver the highest possible patient care. It will support the Department Matron to drive forward evidence based practice and take responsibility for the supervision of staff and the policies and practices that operate within their clinical area.

There has been and continues to be a huge investment in Nursing from the Executive Team and the new workforce plan increases the number of senior nurses in the department substantially. This will allow the post holder to lead and develop a team of nurses assigned to them whilst impacting on all the nurses in the department. There is a significant focus on The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust's (SaTH's) ED quality agenda which is monitored strictly by the CQC.

  • RGN.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional development/ qualification relevant to area of speciality.

Experience and Knowledge
