Oncology Admin Supervisor

Job summary

We are looking to appoint an Oncology Admin Supervisor who will provide leadership and management for the day to day running of the Administrative and Clerical team within the Oncology Department at the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital ensuring the team are delivering the highest possible standard of work and organising/planning duty rota ensuring that the units are adequately staffed at all times.

You will require excellent computer skills and take a lead role in using the existing IT systems eg Oracle, Health Roster, Hospital Transport, Employee Online, Sema Helix and Chemotherapy E-Prescribing systems to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.

The post holder will need to be able to work 19 hours (flexibly) between the hours of 8.00 am and 6.00 pm, to include a Monday and Thursday.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be required to work accurately under pressure, meeting tight deadlines, with the ability to manage and prioritise their own workload and that of the wider team. You will also be an integral part of the team in being able to undertake any aspects of the work. This will involve the working within reception, the booking office, undertaking clinic management or ward clerking on a regular basis.

The Lingen Davies Centre Department care for cancer patients within Out-patient Clinics and Day Units delivering chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiotherapy treatments. You will be working as part of an Administration Team that are caring, friendly and helpful in making a great first impression when patients/visitors arrive at the Departments. The Administration Teams play a vital role in supporting our Health Professionals to provide the very best care.
