Job summary

Are you a registered Nurse and looking for a new and exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver education and training for Neonatal staff?

If so, the neonatal department is for you, we are looking for a nurse with post registration experience with paediatric/neonatal/midwifery/health visiting experience to work, to work with the Neonatal Education lead to help deliver training and education in a variety of aspects of clinical skills, simulation and competency delivery, working with us to drive the education agenda forward.

Main duties of the job

This newly created role therefore is a great opportunity for this to be an innovative role that can be tailored to the needs of the service

About us

The post is part time, and there will be some expectation that you undertake some clinical working in order to build credibility, enhance skills and work alongside staff to enhance their clinical skills.

Professional/Technical Qualifications

Essential

  • oRegistered Nurse
  • oDegree or equivalent in Clinical Specialty, Education or other relevant subject area
  • oMentorship/ preceptorship qualification or equivalent

Desirable

  • Teaching qualification

Experience and Knowledge

Essential

  • oHigh level clinical skills and knowledge.
  • oBroad knowledge of the NHS, professional education and relationships with Higher Education Institutes
  • oAble to demonstrate the principles of teaching and learning within a clinical environment including practice assessment
  • oCurrent recent experience in undertaking preceptor/mentor role.
  • oAn awareness and understanding of policy and practices.

Desirable

  • oInvolvement in clinical audit and/or research.

  • oAbility to work and communicate effectively within a multidisciplinary team setting.
