We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Specialist Speech & Language Therapist to join our dynamic Physical Health Allied Health Professionals team at West London NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of physical health, mental health, and complex care, supporting adults with diverse and complex needs.
In this role, you will independently manage a specialist caseload, delivering high-quality assessment and intervention for individuals with communication and dysphagia difficulties, often linked to neurological conditions, mental health presentations, or neurodivergence.
Working as part of a highly collaborative multidisciplinary team, you will contribute expert clinical insight to holistic care planning and decision-making.
Beyond clinical work, this role offers strong opportunities for leadership and professional development. You will support and supervise junior colleagues and students, contribute to service development through quality improvement initiatives, and deliver training to staff across disciplines.
This makes it an ideal position for a Band 5 looking to step up, or a Band 6 seeking to broaden their scope and impact.
Based across Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, and Hounslow, this role provides variety, autonomy, and the chance to work within a service that is continuously evolving and improving.
Main duties of the job
Manage a complex/specialist caseload from assessment to discharge.
Provide high-quality evidence-based care to national standards (e.g. NICE guidelines).
Uphold professional and legal accountability in line with HCPC and RCSLT standards and trust policies.
Provide specialist clinical advice to other healthcare professionals including those in the acute hospital sector with limited mental health or learning disability experience.
Use of the Trust's Quality Improvement System to facilitate continual safety and quality improvement activities as part of the team.
