An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Speech and Language therapist in our community team for adults with learning disabilities.
We are looking for a professional with leadership skills and a passion to be part of the Speech and Language therapy service as a B5 part time post for a fixed term of 12 months. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and delivery of a highly specialist service, under the direction of the senior SLT demonstrating evolving expertise and specialist skills in areas such as Dysphagia and Communication.

Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will independently manage a caseload of Dysphagia for people with learning disabilities and their communication needs.
They will maintain a high standard of clinical work and offer a person-centred approach to client assessment and intervention by using appropriate treatment procedures and following established standards as guided by the Senior SLT in the team They might also be expected to take part or initiate appropriate quality measures, research or clinical studies that can improve the service and the experience of the service users.
They will be expected to work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary team, service users, carers, and other local services.
The post holder also is required to deliver formal and informal training to staff and carers and participate in regular team meetings, and clinical supervision. They will be flexible, have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to reflect on their own practice. They will show respect and compassion for people with learning disabilities, and their families
