We now have the exciting opportunity to recruit one full time vacancy (1.0 WTE) for Band 8a Team Manager to join our well-established team working across the West London geographical footprint. This is a newly created position following a successful re-tendering process with NHS England, with the new contract going live at the start of November 2025. We are part of the North London Forensic Collaborative (NLFC), which is the largest forensic Provider Collaborative in England and is a partnership between forensic services within five NHS Trusts across North london.

In collaboration, we will provide the Integrated Non-Custodial Liaison and Diversion Services across North London, providing also Primary Care Men's Mental Health Treatment Requirements, a first for London, as well as a new Pathway for Voluntary Attendance. This whole pathway will feature wraparound community support from their voluntary sector partner, Waythrough.

Main duties of the job

We provide proactive case identification, screening and assessment to individuals within Police custody/court/youth justice, identifying need/vulnerabilities, signposting to other services and where indicated diverting to health. Our aim is to improve overall health outcomes, reduce further police contact and re-offending rates, and to avert disorder-related crises.

Clinically you will need excellent communication and risk management/assessment skills and demonstrate a commitment to close partnership working with the Police/courts and other agencies, both statutory and voluntary.

The successful applicant must be able to demonstrate knowledge and direct experience of the crisis pathway and risk management to a high standard and should have previous experience working with young people and adults within acute, community and/or forensic settings.

You will provide clinical and operational leadership across the service as a whole, working at least one day clinically p/week in an area of Liaison and Diversion, role modelling to the team and supporting those crucial multi agency interfaces on a daily basis. Previous supervision and line management experience would be desirable, as this will be expected as part of the post. Understanding change management and developing appropriate service responses will be key to this role in the first 1-2 years as we mobilise the new contract.
