Job summary

The Community Recovery Service is an integrated provider with the London Borough of Hounslow offering Intermediate Care for Hounslow residents. The team is comprised of Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Nurses, and Rehabilitation support staff.

The service delivers on a range of pathways including community rehabilitation, Reablement and hospital discharges, operating 7 days per week (weekend working on a rota basis*).

We are currently seeking a senior occupational therapist with a broad range of skills, experience and knowledge who is looking for an opportunity to further develop skills in community rehabilitation and Reablement.

Main duties of the job

The post offers exciting opportunities to work within our forward thinking service which is an integrated community service working across health and social care. The successful candidates will be part of a large, supportive rehabilitation service, based at the Heart of Hounslow Centre for Health.

The team provides client-centred rehabilitation. Within the team we have the following service pathways;

-Community Rehabilitation

-Reablement

You must be flexible and responsive with excellent time management skills with the confidence to work autonomously as well as in a busy multidisciplinary environment.

You should have sound clinical reasoning skills and have an established Occupational Therapy skill set. Within this role you will have opportunities to develop yourself, be involved with the professional development of junior staff andstudents alongside participation in multidisciplinary audit and research.

We have a number of forward thinking quality initiatives and pathways developing within the team with further emphasis being placed on patients being safely managed through intermediate care services in the community.

  • Core skills in rehabilitation and management of complex conditions
  • Ability to reflect critically and appraise own performance
  • Well established knowledge of assessment tools and treatment techniques
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely via written and spoken word.

Desirable

  • Experience of supervision of junior staff, student or rehabilitation assistant
  • Able to work flexible hours including weekends.
