Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Hammersmith and Fulham (H&F) Community CAMHS for a Band 7 (1.0 WTE) Specialist Systemic & Family Psychotherapist.

We are a friendly, busy, borough-located team and work both preventatively and with children and young people presenting with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their families. We provide both a clinic based service and outreach where appropriate

We would be delighted to hear from Family Therapists who have experience of working in CAMHS or those that are keen to develop their practice in a CAMHS setting for the first time.

We also welcome applications from those newly qualified as family therapists and will offer you continued support, guidance and training to develop as a family therapist with us.

We offer a range of in house and external training opportunities e.g. narrative therapy; NVR; CYP-IAPT.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will join an established multi-disciplinary CAMHS which is responsible for providing Tier 2 mental health services. The post holder will work in Hammersmith and Fulham Community CAMHS Team with children, young people aged 0- 18 years and their families.

The post holder will provide mental health support and treatment for children and young people carrying out comprehensive assessments and offering specialist intervention packages. The post holder will also cover part of the duty and screening function for H&F CAMHS on a rolling basis.

Some examples of your day to day work are mainly direct work with children, young people and their families in different ways, but also liaising with other organisations and services, such as school and social care, partake and contribute to multidisciplinary meetings, and undertaking assessments.

  • oProfessional knowledge and skills acquired through a postgraduate degree-level qualification in Family & Systemic Psychotherapy as accredited by AFT
  • oCurrent professional registration with UKCP as a systemic family therapist.

Desirable

  • oCYP IAPT Trainings, CBT, Brief Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, DBT, EMDR, Interpersonal Therapy, Attachment based approaches, ABFT.
  • oOther post-graduate qualifications.

Experience

  • oPractice experience in relevant first profession.
  • oExperience of working with children and adolescents in a mental health or equivalent settings.
  • oExperience of multi-agency work.
