Job summary

We require a Dietetics Assistant to join our friendly department of Dietitians providing the nutrition and dietetic service to Hounslow Borough.

The post holder will: -

o Provide a service to patients in the Community and in Residential and Nursing Homes who are on Oral Nutrition Support.o To train Practice and Community staff and Residential and Nursing Homes staff on Oral Nutrition Support screening and procedures o To contribute to the Community Out-Patient service across Hounslow and Richmondo Administration support for Clinical Services - Phone calls, emails and messages, booking home visitso Administration and support for Patient Groups e.g., FODMAPS, weight management, CMPAo Audit clinical outcomeso Monitor stock and ordering of resourceso Support the delivery of the dietetic service to patientso Work under the supervision of the Dietetics team and will be responsible for an agreed specific caseload.o Liaise with Dietitians, nursing, catering, SLT, and Dietetics Department administrative team.

Main duties of the job

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The post holder will: - o Work as a member of the dietetic department, providing a comprehensive dietetic service to the work areas agreed and allocated o To support an effective service to patients referred for ONS o To communicate and liaise with all members of the Dietetics and Administration teams o To assist in developing new resources and overcoming any barriers to change. Work with the Dietetic team to produce practical advice and resources. Assisting in interpreting and translating to make our health messages reach a wider audience. To assist with piloting such resources and assist in developing our department evidence-based resources. o To keep any written records in accordance with organisational and departmental standards. o To participate in department case review meetings and develop reflective skills. o To lead in organising and delivering nutrition education sessions (based on MUST) to groups of Practice and Community staff and Residential and Nursing Homes staff. To evaluate the effectiveness of these sessions and adapt approach accordingly.
