Job summary
The Hounslow Paediatric Speech and Language Therapy Team are seeking an enthusiastic and innovative therapist to lead on developing the Speech and Language Therapy Service offered to the Hounslow Youth Justice Service (YJS). This is an exciting opportunity that has arisen as a result of increased awareness in Hounslow of the Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) of young people known to the Youth Justice system and an increase in funding.
The successful candidate will need significant experience working in Youth Justice and with young people with a range of SLCN and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties and their families.
The role includes specialist assessment and management of young people known to the Hounslow YJS within the multi-disciplinary team. It also entails developing universal and targeted input and working closely with families, peers and professionals across health, youth justice and educational settings.
Main duties of the job
Our team is committed to professional development and providing quality SaLT services for children, young people and their families. Therefore there is opportunity to be involved in training and supervision of staff as well as service development where you will work closely with the SaLT Leads and the Children's Therapy Services Manager to continue to shape and develop the SaLT service.
