Job summary

We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual to lead the Trust's Quality Improvement (QI) team, and ensure that the vision of the Trust's QI Strategy is achieved.

The successful candidate will be a proven leader, and will be able to demonstrate experience of leading improvement within different contexts and at a high level. The post holder will possess a track record of working with a wide range of stakeholders in a health and social care setting.

As a natural communicator, the successful candidate will relish the opportunity to network effectively, motivate and persuade people. They will develop and deliver training opportunities, publicise and embed Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) within West London NHS Trust. They will line manage the Quality Improvement Manager and oversee the Qi team. They will lead the development of QI training offered to the trust. The post holder will be responsible to lead and develop the direct use of Qi methodology to achieve the trust strategic goals and priorities. They will work closely with staff at all levels of the organisation as well as service users, carers and wider Quality Improvement networks in other organisations.

Main duties of the job

The Head of Quality Improvement will:

  • Be responsible for development and delivery the QI strategy for West London NHS Trust in conjunction with other key stakeholders, providing a clear vision for the Trust with QI at the heart of everything it does.
  • Demonstrably deliver on the development of the Trust's annual quality priorities
  • Ensure that the different service lines integrate QI into their service delivery
  • Provide a specialist QI advisory role to the organisation regarding service improvement/transformations and strategic planning in West London NHS Trust
  • Provide expertise and leadership on using data and measurement for improvement to all levels of the organisation.
  • Provide high level expertise and leadership to QI project teams and those involved in QI work.
  • Support and monitor the progress of projects through the use of a project database, ensuring that projects are aligned with the Trust's strategy for quality improvement and quality priorities.
  • Manage the teaching of improvement science at a number of internal & external training events as required.
  • Represent the trust at a national level
  • Manage the development of teaching materials and agendas for training events.
  • Foster and promote a culture of innovation and learning across the organisation, through the development of close links with learning and development, research, audit and transformation
  • Work in collaboration with partners across health and social care landscape
  • Manage the QI team
  • Manage the Qi team budget
