Job summary

WLNT is about to implement an exciting project to deliver an Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (EPMA) system to integrate with its existing pharmacy stock control and electronic patient record systems. An opportunity has arisen for an experienced pharmacist to work within ePMA team and help us deliver against our ambitious digital and clinical change management agenda. You will work alongside senior medical ePMA consultants and nurses as part of the Pharmacy/Clinical Workstream within the ePMA team. You will manage a team of ePMA pharmacists and technicians within the Pharmacy/Clinical Workstream alongside the Epma Project manager.

Candidates should have demonstrable, and recent experience of successful ePMA delivery and of embedding effective change management in a clinical environment is desirable.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will responsible for the highly specialised advice and support for the back-end clinical technical process for pharmaceutical aspects This will involve reviewing, design and configuration of the system as well as supporting its maintenance and ongoing development.

The postholder will also be responsible for the provision of timely and accurate medicines data in line with our contractual obligations. To train and support clinicians with ePMA processes. It will also involve through the ePMA Project Managers directing, developing and managing the Pharmacy team to ensure that all system developments meet the broader needs of the pharmacy department and organisation. This includes acting as the information governance lead for the department and other aspects of clinical governance, such as accountability and patient safety relating to medication administration and medicines management both in pharmacy and across the Trust. Providing clinical pharmacist services to wards and community clinics to review medicines and professionally screen prescriptions and providing pharmacist support in the dispensaries when required, professionally checking prescriptions. The post holder will be assisted in this respect by the EPMA Project Team and ePMA Project Manager.
