An opportunity has arisen in Hammersmith and Fulham CLA (Children Looked After Service) CAMHS, for a permanent skilled and experienced Clinical Team Manager. We offer excellent training, support and development opportunities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced CAMHS Professional to take a strategic lead in maintaining and further developing the team's provision. The successful candidate will fulfil this role in liaison with all key stakeholders. The role includes providing consultation to social workers, supervision, being involved in recruitment, as well as some clinical work.

The service is embedded within the multiagency team. The successful candidate will be part of the local senior management structures within CAMHS, and welcomed as a senior member of a growing psychology local team, and tri-borough team, including linking with colleagues who work within trauma informed models with children who are looked after in other CAMHS boroughs of West London NHS Trust.

The job is based in Hammersmith, an inner city area with excellent transport links and facilities.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide operational management and clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary LAC CAMHS Team Hammersmith and Fulham as well as playing a key role in the development of the service to most effectively meet the mental health needs of looked after children, young people and families in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.

The post holder will have a clearly defined caseload to which they will provide evidence based assessments, consultations and interventions, and they will work with other clinicians and partner agencies in a collaborative way to provide emotional wellbeing and mental health support to children, young people and families.

The needs of looked after children and young people and families will be at the centre of thinking about the service, and you will work together with service users and colleagues to ensure that the service best meets the needs of its population. Hammersmith & Fulham is a culturally diverse borough and you will be involved in ensuring that the service is accessible and effective.

You will receive regular supervision and line management from the relevant Head of Discipline. There are excellent opportunities for professional development.

Essential

  • Doctoral level training in clinical psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the British Psychological Society, or equivalent if trained overseas.
  • Eligible to work as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical) as approved by the Health Care Professions Council
  • Post-qualification training in supervision / specialist application of formal therapy models.

Desirable

  • Post-doctoral training in one or more additional specialised areas of psychological practi
  • Training in CBT

Experience

Essential

  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for clients' psychological care and treatment, both as a professionally qualified care coordinator and also within the context of a multidisciplinary care plan.
  • Experience of teaching and training.
  • Experience of multi-agency working.
  • Significant experience of delivering professional, clinical and management supervision to psychologists.
  • Experience of and commitment to service development.
