The Ealing Community Team for People with Learning Disabilities is a joint health and social care service for adults with Learning disabilities living in Ealing.
We are looking to recruit a Band 7 Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist. As an autonomous practitioner you will manage a specialist case load providing assessment and interventions of the health needs of adults with a learning disability. You will also have a very exciting opportunity to lead and develop the occupational therapy service and relevant clinical pathways.
You will have opportunities to develop your role, liaising and networking with wider occupational therapy services within Ealing Community Partners and West London Health NHS Trust.

Main duties of the job
To develop and oversee the provision of a specialist evidence-based occupational therapy service for adults in the community who have learning disabilities.
To provide clinical leadership in the area of learning disabilities and dual diagnosis with mental health and/or physical disabilities.
To manage a caseload of clients with complex needs, using evidence-based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate outcomes.
To provide specialist Occupational Therapy input to planning, development and evaluation of clinical services within learning disabilities, holding responsibility for defined projects.
To provide specialist consultation in the assessment and treatment of clients with sensory processing disorders and challenging behaviour.
To carry a specialist caseload and work with team members to assess, plan and implement appropriate individual and group Occupational Therapy rehabilitation programmes within a community setting. This will include close working with other agencies and providers within primary, social and community care.
To initiate research, teaching and clinical audit related to Occupation Therapy within the Learning Disability Service.

- To ensure that the occupational therapy service delivered in a client-centred, needs-led, evidence- based and non-discriminatory manner.
