Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified Band 6 ASC-LD Practitioner to work at Ealing CAMHS within our Learning Disabilities team and to train to become a Band 7 Specialist CAMHS Practitioner through our innovative and comprehensive training programme which includes formal teaching, experiential learning and supervision. The role combines clinical work with children, young people and their families, alongside opportunities to support team and service development.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, skilled and innovative clinician who is able to maintain clinical curiosity and engage in reflective practice as well as be able to be an advocate for children, young people and families' needs. You will be joining a welcoming and supportive team in Ealing and West London who are committed to service improvement, staff well-being, and who value diversity in our workforce.
Main duties of the job
You will offer a high-quality service to young people, families / carers, alongside working effectively with your colleagues and liaising with other professionals in the network. In particular, you will provide mental health and challenging behaviour assessment and specialist intervention for children and young people with a Learning Disability with complex mental health and/or challenging behaviour presentations referred to the service under the supervision of an experienced qualified CAMHS Practitioner. The candidates will offer a range of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions appropriate for children and young people attending the service. You will also contribute to the ongoing development of the CAMHS LD team and you will have the opportunity to be involved in service development, audit, research and quality improvement projects.

- Minimum of second-class Bachelor's degree from a UK university or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard in a relevant subject (e.g. psychology, social work)
- AND / OR Qualification in an appropriate mental health profession (such as Nursing, Social Work, OT, Counselling or Clinical Psychology, Family Therapy or Child Psychotherapy) and registration with relevant UK governing body. N.B. Applications MAY be considered from those with a relevant first degree who do not have a registerable professional training if they have at least 3 years' experience in a CAMHS or equivalent setting
