An exciting opportunity has arisen for Psychologists with experience of working with young people and their families to work at Hammersmith & Fulham CAMHS. This is an integrated post across the Intensive Therapeutic Behaviour Support Service (ITBSS, 0.6 WTE) and Neurodevelopmental Disorder and Learning Disability team (NDLD, 0.4 WTE) to promote integration and collaboration between the two teams within H&F CAMHS.
The post-holder will join a well-established experienced large and thriving NDLD multi-disciplinary team (MDT). They will be provided with high-quality clinical psychology supervision from a highly specialist clinical psychologist. The ITBSS & NDLD team is embedded within the Hammersmith and Fulham CAMHS Service, which also consists of the Adolescent Team, Children and Families team and the Tier 2 Community CAMHS team. The H&F CAMHS service is a friendly and supportive multi-disciplinary team based at 48 Glenthorne Road, London W6 0LS. Hammersmith and Fulham CAMHS is part of the West London NHS Trust CAMHS and Developmental Service Line which also covers services in Ealing and Hounslow.
In addition, the post-holder will join the thriving psychology team based within CAMHS. We are looking for a skilled, hard-working and enthusiastic psychologist who is passionate about delivering high-quality and effective services to children and young people.
Main duties of the job
The post-holder will offer services to children and young people with severe LD and/or ASD and their families who are referred to the Hammersmith and Fulham CAMHS ITBSS service. ITBSS is a psychology-led community-based service. The post-holder will deliver specialist assessments and interventions to these children with high levels of complex needs, their families, the schools they attend, social workers and other agencies that are also involved in their care. They will work alongside other MDT members and multi-agency colleagues such as social workers and education colleagues to deliver a high-quality service to children with complex needs and their families. The post-holder will be required to respond flexibly to the needs of the client group and assess in different settings including specialist schools and family homes, in the CAMHS clinic, and within social care and community settings and carry out home and school visits as appropriate.
The post-holder will also offer clinical supervision and line management to trainee psychologists and assistant psychologists according to service needs at any one point. They will also contribute to clinical governance and service development.
Flexible working is available. All staff are equipped for remote working with clients and colleagues.
