Ambulatory Care Teaching and Clinical Fellow
The closing date is 08 April 2026
Job summary
This post is based in Ambulatory Emergency Care/ SDEC and provides an exciting opportunity for a trainee who wishes to take some time out of full-time clinical training at the end of their foundation training. We invite applications from those with a strong teaching interest in undergraduate medical education, and particularly applicants with an interest in Acute Medicine.
You will work as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary team. Your training will mirror that given to doctors in training programs and you will be allocated a consultant supervisor to support your career development. You will be encouraged to grow as a clinician and participate in governance including mortality reviews, quality improvement projects, departmental and trust-wide educational activities. The AEC is run under the umbrella of Acute Medicine and as such, has a GIM/ Medical focus with a range of presentations from across the spectrum of medical conditions. As an inner London Trust, this includes a wide range of cases from across the spectrum of health inequalities, resource poor areas and the complex dynamics of socio-economic variation.

About us
Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
