Job summary
Would you like to join our team of midwives providing midwifery care in the community setting, home birth and birth centre at Whittington Health? We have a vacancy for an experienced band 6 midwife to join our team in Islington and Haringey. The successful applicant will provide antenatal and postnatal care in the community as well as participate in the home birth service, as well as intrapartum care on the midwifery led unit.

We are a friendly unit where our staff are well supported through a strong practice development and PMA support systems.
Our midwives work a varied range of shifts and hours in all areas of midwifery including days, nights and weekends as well as an on call basis to support women birthing at home.

Essential
- Registered Midwife currently registered to practice
Desirable
- Mentorship and assessing or equivalent
- Minimum of 2 year experience as RM
Skills & Abilities
Essential
- Must be able to practice in all areas in accordance with the Midwives rules and code of conduct
- Can practice autonomously in the acute and primary care setting
- Able to prioritise work load appropriately
- Ability to conduct relationships in such a way that conflict is minimized
- Ability to deal with challenging behaviour and circumstances
- Competent interpreting CTG and intermittent monitoring
- Has advanced clinical skills including, suturing, cannulation, maternal and neonatal resuscitation confident dealing with e.g. PPH, shoulder dystocia Eclamptic fits
