Apprentice Physiotherapist
The closing date is 27 March 2026
Job summary
This is a development role over three years working towards successful completion of a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy and registration with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC).
The post holder will work to achieve competencies related to the role of a Physiotherapist. This will be achieved through work-based learning and experience alongside the Physiotherapy Apprenticeship degree training programme.
This role will include working within a variety of clinical settings, delivering direct person-centred physiotherapy assessment, treatment and care. The post holder will be expected to participate in rotations to strengthen knowledge, skills and behaviours alongside the training programme.
The expectation in the first year is to develop job competence to the level expected of a Therapy Assistant. The scope of the role will expand as capability is mapped against the training modules and work-based competency attainment.
The funding for the training programme comes from the apprenticeship levy. The academic training will be provided by Coventry University.

About us
Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
