Whittington Hospital NHS Trust

Senior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics

The closing date is 05 August 2025

Job summary

This is an exciting opportunity for senior paediatric trainees (ST3b+) to develop their specialty experience whilst in a Senior Clinical Fellow post at the Whittington hospital. The appointees will work out of hours on the paediatric on call rota but within hours will focus on a special interest: options are Respiratory (under supervision of Dr Moreiras), Paediatric Mental Health (under supervision of Dr Lancaster), ED/CAU (under supervision of Dr Poonam Patel) and Allergy (under supervision of Dr Neeta Patel) as well as providing some general paediatric clinic coverage with consultant support. These are new posts which have been created to support the Tier 2 workforce whilst providing an opportunity for specialty interest development within well-established departments. The appointees will have flexibility to shape their roles and will be expected to work on QI and audit projects within their chosen specialty as well as take an active interest in management and leadership within their field.

About us

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trustbelieves that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
