Job summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic individual for a fixed term qualified ACP post within Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) at Whittington Health, based at the main hospital site in Archway.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Advanced Clinical Practitioner (minimum post graduate level qualification) from an ED or acute care background to work in our Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit. This post is a fixed-term contract providing maternity leave cover for an SDEC ACP. Dependent on the successful candidate's experience and interests, there may also be the opportunity to work on the medical take & post take, when and if required.
The Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC) unit was opened at the Whittington Hospital in February 2012 and has since flourished and gained national repute. As an Integrated Care Organisation (ICO) we believe that we can provide the best possible treatment, with continuity of care without the need for an inpatient stay for many of our patients.
You will work as part of a dynamic, multidisciplinary (MDT) team. Your training will mirror that given to doctors in training programs within the department and you will be allocated a consultant supervisor or advanced clinical practitioner to support your career development. You will be encouraged to grow as a member of our dynamic MDT and participate in governance including mortality reviews, quality improvement projects, departmental and trust- wide educational activities.

Dependent on experience and demand, the post-holder may be expected to work in AAU, both ward work and out of hours acute unselected medical take and ward cover, with clinical supervision by AAU and AEC consultants and registrars. The post-holder will be an advocate to promote same day emergency care (SDEC) through working in Ambulatory care.
This is a full-time post of 37.5hrs per week and the post-holder will work on a weekly rota consisting of early shifts, mid-morning, or late shifts and will be expected to contribute to the weekend staffing.
