Main duties of the job

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Infant Feeding Team within Barnet

Health visiting service. The post holder will support the Infant Feeding Specialist and to deliver services to families in Barnet.

The post-holder will contribute to the provision of infant feeding services including delivery of infant feeding support, which may include home visiting; telephone support and group work at the children's centres/clinics, home visits, virtual and telephone contacts.

The post-holder will also be expected to support with the implementation of UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Initiative and maintain baby friendly standards within the Health Visiting service. The post holder will have knowledge of the UNICEF Baby Friendly Initiative to ensure that community standards are sustained and embedded across health visiting service.

The Infant Feeding Support Worker is pivotal in facilitating health promotion groups for families to support breast feeding and infant feeding and referring and signposting to appropriate services. The post holder will have knowledge, skills and experience in infant feeding and will work in close collaboration with the health visiting services to ensure the seamless delivery of care across the infant feeding service, providing continuity of care to the families.
