Job summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a high specialist and enthusiastic individual to join Whittington Health (WH) Musculoskeletal (MSK) team as an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner.
WH is situated in North London and delivers health care to the residents of Haringey and Islington; both in the community and through the Whittington Hospital. We have a Single point of access (SPOA) for all MSK referrals in Islington and Haringey to direct referrals appropriately to community and secondary care services. The (MSK) service incorporates both the MSK Physiotherapy and MSK Clinical Assessment and Treatment Service (CATS). The MSK CATS service is run by Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner's (APP) managing complex MSK patients across a variety of community sites.
The CATS service enjoys and benefits from close working links with the Orthopaedic, Rheumatology and Pain consultants, local GPs and commissioners.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will manage a caseload of complex MSK presentations from triage to discharge in line with current best practice. The role will include assessment, provision of joint and soft tissue corticosteroid injections, referral for diagnostic tests as well as appropriate onward referral to specialist secondary care services.
The post holder will act as a clinical MSK expert for the MSK Physiotherapy service as well as supervise senior MSK Physiotherapy clinicians. The in-service training, appraisal and personal development programmes are well established for all staff and all departments provide a friendly working environment with supportive and experienced clinicians.
You will need to have a caring and mature attitude to work closely with patients and with staff in our department.
The focus of this role is on high quality MSK care for the Community Services.
