Are you a Community Nursery Nurse looking for an exciting opportunity to work within in Barnet, supporting families and their children aged between 0-11 years through the delivery of services in schools, children centres, homes, clinics and green spaces.

Barnet School Nurses are a key partner delivering the 5-19 services in the local area, offering support and advice to families. We have a vacancy for 3 Community Nursery Nurses with an NVQ Level 3 in Child Care/CACHE Level 3 Diploma or equivalent.

You will be working as a member of the school nursing team and alongside both health and early years staff in schools. Your role is to support the school nurse liaison with school nurseries contacts with a particular focus on the 3-6 year old cohort, delivering agreed interventions and supporting engagement in the wealth of activities on offer including minor illness, oral health and much more.

Main duties of the job

You will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the Healthy Child Programme across schools in Barnet. Will be developing relationships with school nurseries to enhance the school readiness programme.

You would be expected to demonstrate good communication skills withcolleagues and partners as well as families and children. Good computer skills are essential for the role, and you will be expected to work with the local electronic patient record system.

There are lots of opportunities to participate in activities and training such as school readiness programme, asthma programme as well as facilitating groups such as toilet training, continence assessments and parents coffee mornings. All of this work is managed within a framework which explains the training and supervision on offer starting with the induction programme and a six month probation which applies to all staff at Whittington.
