Job summary

School Nurse Band 5 Islington TERM TIME contract (Term Time Only )

An exciting opportunity has arisen for registered paediatric/adult nurses to join Islington Mainstream School Nursing Service. Our school nursing teams are committed to meeting the health needs of children and young people attending schools in Islington.

We offer a robust band 5 professional development programme linked to Herts University with the emphasis of growing our own Specialists Community Public Health Nurses(HV or SN).

Main duties of the job

We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic nurses with excellent communication skills to join our team. A desire to work with children, young people and families from a variety of cultural backgrounds is essential. Our friendly and supportive teams can offer the successful candidates a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing clinical/child protection supervision.

About us

Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
