Job summary

Main duties of the job

  • The primary responsibility is to maintain the safety of patients and others by promptly reporting all accidents, incidents, or potential risks that could lead to harm to senior staff.
  • Monitor patient for any subtle or sudden changes in their condition or any changes in their vital signs.
  • To be responsible for the care, control and administration of drugs and medicine.
  • To ensure standards of documentation are maintained in accordance with NMC Guidelines for records.
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills systems with patients, their relatives and friends and other visitors.

The post holder will promote a good working relationship with all the members of staff and display enthusiasm, interest and the willingness to learn. They will be expected to participate and attend ward meetings and maintain and personal and processional status by ensuring that the requirements laid down by the NMC are complied with.
