Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to join our ambitious, caring and innovative Neurodevelopmental Team (NDT) in Islington CAMHS. We are a multidisciplinary team who assess children and young people aged 5-18 years for autism and ADHD (and learning disabilities that co-occur with these conditions). Our team includes Clinical and Counselling psychology, Speech and Language therapy, Occupational therapy, Paediatrics, Psychiatry. We are fortunate to have a Parent worker in the team, and support from our Band 4 Team administrator and Assistant psychologist.
With the ongoing increase in demand for neurodevelopmental assessments, we are really keen to bring in a new role to our team to help us think about how we can offer the best and most efficient service so that we can help as many children and young people as possible have the best outcomes. With this in mind the post holder should be a creative and clear thinker, with administrative experience, and with excellent skills with technology to help us to put in place effective systems to manage our large caseload and to monitor through put and the quality of the service we provide.
We are keen to encourage applications from those who represent our local community and the neuro divergent population we are working with. Please do get in touch if we can support you with your application, or if you have any questions about whether the post can be flexible in a way that would enable you to take it on.
Main duties of the job
This post holder will be responsible for the management of the Neurodevelopmental Team waiting list and caseload with close liaison with the NDT team managers, team psychiatrist and the NDT team administrator, as well as managing NDT assessment and follow up clinics efficiently ensuring patients are booked for reviews and that reports, and care plans are sent in a timely way. Alongside senior clinicians, the postholder will be responsible for creating new systems to improve efficiency across the care pathways and manage data and reports summarising activity.
The post will include liaison with parents and older young people in relation to their waiting times, their needs whilst on the waiting list, and their appointments.
About us
Whittington Health serves a richly diverse population and works hard to ensure that all our services are fair and equally accessible to everyone. Nowhere is this more obvious than in the way we look after our staff. We aim to employ a workforce which is as representative as possible of this population, so we are open to the value of differences in age, disability, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, race, sexual orientation, and religion or belief. The Trust believes that as a public sector organisation we have an obligation to have recruitment, training, promotion and other formal employment policies and procedures that are sensitive to these differences. We think that by doing so, we are better able to treat our patients as well as being a better place to work.
