ISLINGTON ADDITIONAL NEEDS AND DISABILITY SERVICE

PAEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - Mainstream Therapies Team 37.5 hours per week - Fixed term Band 6

We have an opportunity for an experienced therapist to join our well established service in Islington. We are looking for an individual who is innovative and enthusiastic with a particular interest in supporting school aged children and/or young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder as well as a range of conditions relevant to the school aged population including Developmental Co-ordination Disorder and sensory and physical disabilities . The post holder will be based at the Northern Health Centre alongside therapy colleagues.The Mainstream Therapies |Team provides a multi-disciplinary service for children with additional needs and disabilities and you will be working alongside both Speech and Language Therapists and Physiotherapists.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be responsible for delivering a service to children and young people attending mainstream schools, including assessment, diagnosis, advice and support for children, young people and their families as well as providing support to schools themselves. The service delivered will incorporate a coaching model as well as formal training for schools.

The post holder is an autonomous practitioner and is responsible for organising and managing his/her own caseload delivering a service in schools, clinic, homes as appropriate.
