An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Whittington Health NHS Trust Community Children's Nursing Service for the London borough of Islington, North London, based at the Northern Health Centre, Holloway Road. The service provides nursing care and support to children and young people at home as an alternative to hospital admission or as a method of reducing the length of stay in hospital. The Community Children's Nursing Service consists of a highly regarded general Community Children's Nursing Team, and Hospital at Home Team The post holder will be expected to work flexibly across the teams. They will be responsible for providing skilled nursing care for sick children in their own homes. They are also responsible for the effective assessing, planning implementation, delivery and evaluation of individualised nursing care to children as required under the direction of the Senior practitioner,Advanced nurse practitioner and medical staff.
Main duties of the job
You will be joining an experienced diverse community nursing team consisting of the Life Force paediatric palliative care team, the Continuing Care team, Nurses in Primary Care, Neonatal nursing and other CNS specialists within the extended team.
The service runs from 8am - 8pm 7 days a week throughout the year. We are looking for an experienced nurse, if possible with the physical assessment course. As an integrated care organisation there are varied opportunities for training and development plus from other specialists. An induction period is provided tailored to the individuals needs.
