Job summary
We are seeking a dynamic individual to join a rapidly expanding group of clinicians and clinical academics in Endocrinology & Metabolism at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW) Applications are open to candidates with an interest in any aspect of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism but a Specialist Interest & knowledge base in NET and with appropriate clinical experience. The principal focus of the department is upon excellent clinical service and research.
This opportunity has arisen to further expand our academic activity in Endocrinology & Metabolism. We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join a rapidly expanding group of clinicians and clinical academics in the Warwickshire Institute for the Study of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism (WISDEM), at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust. The purpose of this post is to undertake clinical practice in all areas of D&E with a focus on NET and Metabolic Disorders, research, education/training, and specialist clinical training that includes provision of regular weekly clinical support of trials in diabetes and endocrinology based at UHCW.

Main duties of the job
As part of our commitment to patients and delivery of a world class service for all we have created the UHCW Improvement (UHCWi) System in partnership with the Virginia Mason Institute in Seattle; this involves a structured approach to removing waste and putting the patient first using a lean management system and methodologies. Our culture and ways of working reflect and embed the practices and methodologies of UHCWi. You are expected, where identified, to attend and complete relevant training and development opportunities to support this. This may include Lean
for Leaders, Advanced Lean Training, and the Human Factors Programme, amongst others. Full attendance and completion of identified courses is considered essential and a pre requisite for this post.
1) To contribute and manage the day-to-day research activity of the specified project and
establish sound research with relevant legislation and Good Clinical Practice.
2) To provide regular weekly clinical input towards Diabetes, Endocrinology & Metabolism.
3) To provide weekly input into related research trials within UHCW.
4) To publish research outcomes in appropriate journals of international standing and to
publish and disseminate the results of research and scholarship in other outlets.
5) To contribute to the preparation of grant applications and projects including support of the
existing research team.
