Job summary
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic Nurse to apply for a Band 6 clinical sister/charge Nurse for COpAT on a fixed term basis.
A shift/team leader, providing clinical leadership and management support, developing and evaluating best practice within the department. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate high standards of patient care and have excellent communication skills. Providing care for patients within their own home following assessment by the COpAT team and deputise for the department manager as required.
COpAT allows patients to receive the care, monitoring and treatment that they need in their own home. This includes supporting early discharge out of hospital. This model is appropriate for cohorts of patients who require in-person treatment such as intravenous (IV) antibiotics.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
- Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct. Contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
- Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients/carers and the multi-professional team including situations where difficulties in comprehension occur.
- A skilled practitioner and clinical leader providing support to the management team, participating in service/policy development.
- Responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented and evaluated/audited.
- Organisation of cross-departmental/organisational activities including HR, resource and bleep-holder responsibilities as appropriate.
