Job summary
Our Trauma Orthopaedic and Plastic Theatres Team has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Theatre Practitioner. We are looking for a highly enthusiastic and dynamic individual with extensive Orthopaedic Scrub experience and willingness be to become dual trained Anaesthetic practitioner. The successful candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills to support the team in achieving high standards of patient care within theatres. In return we offer comprehensive training in all aspects of our service. In addition, we have a dedicated team of Theatre Clinical Educators who will support and guide you through the excellent range of opportunities that UHCW NHS Trust has to offer.
As a provider of patient-centred care, we are passionate about delivering excellent care to our local and extended population in the acute environment and in recent years, our theatres have achieved large gains in productivity and efficiency through improved capacity management and real-time tracking of theatre activity.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
- The primary focus of the post is to ensure that the Trust provides high quality patient centred care.
- The practitioner will act as an advocate for patients.
- The practitioner will provide clinical leadership for a specified theatre / specialist area and deputise in the absence of the band 7 Clinical Lead.
- The practitioner will be required to weekends as service dedicates.
- The practitioner will become proficient in rostering and absence management.
- You will carry out a wide range of theatre duties at the direction of senior staff.
- You will be responsible for their own professional conduct in line with NMC/HPC Code of Conduct. They will adhere to and understand all Trust & local policies and procedures.
