As Matron you will have responsibility for the delivery of high quality, responsive, safe and effective care that improves patient outcomes and patient experience.
A high profile, accessible and responsive leader with managerial responsibility for nursing service delivery and advice across Children's services. Working as a nursing lead within the group management structure, demonstrating and developing collaborative working within and across the MDT. The Modern Matron has a pivotal role in creating the best experiences and opportunities for our staff to become local, national, and international leaders in healthcare with the patient at the centre of everything we do.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
The Modern Matron's role is to empower others to strive for continuous evidence based improvements and to motivates staff always deliver the highest quality care to all who access our services to promote World Class Care at UHCW NHS Trust. The matron will be able to make informed decisions within their own speciality and scope of professional practice, involving patients and public to ensure agreed standards, targets and objectives are met. The key focus is on quality improvementsinsafety,effectiveness,andpatientexperienceinaddition to corporate responsibilities ,supporting other colleagues and paediatric on call rotas within the speciality. The matron will also be responsible for delivering the goals as described within the Matron's Charter (2019) taking a proactiveas well as reactive stance on cleaning standards and infection control. Ensuring the voice of the child is at the heart of the care delivery and service design.

- To be a visible leader, ensuring a physical presence, providing professional nurse leadership and demonstrating through personal behaviours the core values UHCW NHS Trust. Ensuring a professional appearance, maintaining professional standards, and leading by example.
- To visit and be present on wards and departments within areas of responsibility daily and to be accessible to staff via face to face or other forms of communication, ensuring time is provided to staff to discuss concerns, inequalities or clinical issues that may affect clinical effectiveness.
- To act as an expert resource, providing advice on nursing issues in relation to policies, protocols, service delivery and the adoption of the organisations aims.
- To ensure inclusive leadership, advancing equality and tackling inequalities that could thwart opportunities for all.
