Job summary
We are looking for a motivated, professional, and caring individual who holds a specialist Level 4 qualification from the British Association for Cardiovascular Prevention and Rehabilitation (BACPR) and Level 2 gym instructors or equivalent qualification. We have a vacancy of up to 10 hours per week which will be worked over 2-4 days (Monday - Friday 8-4 pm). This post is ideal for a freelance Level 4 instructor. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a high-performing, multi-disciplinary team delivering evidence-based cardiovascular rehabilitation across two well-equipped outpatient sites -- the Centre for Exercise and Health (Coventry) and St Cross Hospital (Rugby).The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting patients along their recovery pathway, helping them to achieve optimal health and wellbeing following cardiac events or procedures.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
- Demonstrate a range of aerobic and strengthening exercises using gymnasium equipment to individuals with cardiopulmonary disease and related long term conditions.
- Supervise and instruct patients with long term conditions (CHD, CHF, COPD, VAD) whilst undertaking rehabilitation exercises within a gymnasium environment, evaluating physiological data to amend exercise intensity.
- Lead a variety of exercise classes for individuals and their partners attending community maintenance rehabilitation exercise programmes for patients with long term conditions.
- Teach patients with long term conditions on self-management skills using motivational interviewing and goal setting techniques, occasionally dealing with distressed patients andtheir carers.
- Prepare and deliver holistic health promotion and patient education programmes for individuals and their carers enrolled on long term chronic conditions rehabilitation programmes
- Contribute to the administration/clerical duties and day to day running of a comprehensive long term conditions rehabilitation programme, including general care of the department, gym areas and equipment, data management, financial procedures, and stock controls.
