Job summary
- The primary focus of the post is to ensure that the Trust provides high quality patient centred care.
- The practitioner will act as an advocate for patients.
- The practitioner will provide clinical leadership for Ground Floor Theatres.
- The practitioner must be vastly experienced, highly motivated with a passion for driving the service forward demonstrating and leading patient focused evidence based practice at all times.
- The practitioner will be responsible for their own professional conduct in line with NMC/HPC Code of Conduct. They will adhere to and understand all Trust & local policies and procedures
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
- Assess, plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the peri-operative care of patients using specialist knowledge and skills.
- Acknowledge personal preferences, rights and choice of patients undergoing surgery.
- Maintain health, safety and the control of infection in clinical work areas in line with Trust policies and procedures.
- Store, prepare and administer prescribed drugs to patients, and monitor the effects of drugs on patients in line with Trust policies.
- Prepare, monitor and maintain materials and equipment for clinical procedures, take action if found to be faulty.
- Support, monitor and care for patients during clinical procedures.
- Contribute to treating patients during clinical emergencies.
- Receive, transfer and position patients for clinical procedures.
- Maintain accurate & legible records of care.
