Job summary
An excellent opportunity has arisen to employ either a qualified and /or trainee Advanced Practitioner. We are looking for patient focused radiographers that can demonstrate commitment and passion to our service. It is important that all applicants can demonstrate excellent communication skills.
Trainee Advanced Practitioners applicants will be supported to gain competency in film reading and stereotactic interventions and will be paid as a band 6 until all the competencies have been completed. Following course completion, the individual will transfer to a band 7 role. Applicants that meet the person specification for the qualified position will automatically be awarded a band 7 if offered the position. About the role: You will be supporting the breast imaging department to carry a range of interventions using stereotactic equipment and supporting specialist imaging, film reading and completing a range of audits and supporting projects. There is also a focus on demonstrating strong leadership skills and being a role model, supporting the development of colleagues and staff in a variety of different training roles. Interesting work will also be available in terms of audit, opportunities for sharing knowledge and learning from others.
Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
The post holder(s) will have specialist knowledge in Mammography and work at an Advanced Practice level. Duties include symptomatic and screening mammography, stereotactic biopsies, vacuum excisions, wire localisations, and NHS Breast Screening programme image interpretation.
Additionally, the post holder will participate in clinical service delivery, performing mammography on static and mobile units, assessment clinics, and the symptomatic service.
Duties will take place at Coventry and Warwickshire Hospital, City of Coventry Health Centre, George Eliot Hospital, Nuneaton, and on the three mobile Breast Screening Units as per NHSBSP guidelines and Warwickshire, Solihull, and Coventry Breast Screening Service & ISO 9001:2015 standards. Flexibility is required during the week, with some weekend work.
The post-holder will be part of the multidisciplinary team at Coventry and Warwickshire Breast Screening Unit.
Applicants should be enthusiastic, motivated, and flexible in delivering breast imaging services, including evenings and weekends. The successful applicant will work closely with the Breast Management team, taking a proactive leadership role in supervising, inspiring, and educating clinical staff, including radiographers, advanced practitioners, mammography practitioners, and radiographic assistants.
A full UK driving license is essential for this post. Please note that an international driving license is not accepted.
