Job summary
This role has been designed to work within and support the Diabetes clinical nurse specialist team across the UHCW sites where we provide a nurse led service to a wide range of patients who live with Diabetes. The service is expanding and is expected to keep on growing.
The post requires a host of skills including IT literacy, organisation, data collection versatility to mention a few. The successful candidate will assist the team with their outpatient clinic and inpatient caseloads, as well as other admin duties.
Previous NHS experience is desirable for this post.

Successful applicants will be required to provide an immunisation and vaccination report, from either their current UK occupational health provider or their UK GP.
Main duties of the job
- To participate as a member of the diabetes multidisciplinary team (MDT) to ensure the highest standard of patient care, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
- Participate in educating patients/ carers and other healthcare professionals on the management of diabetes. Be responsible for the ordering and stock levels of patient information leaflets and putting together of patients treatment starter packs.
- Responding to patient's enquiries left on the diabetes CNS team inbox and dealing with (including escalation if required) queries in a timely manner. Use independent judgement analysis to aim to resolve problems when dealing with patients and reassure patients when necessary.
- Following training and assessment to undertake and record clinical tasks and observations, which may include, blood pressure measurement, urinalysis and specimen collection, wound dressings.
- To communicate using appropriate verbal and non-verbal methods, in a variety of situations that may involve understanding and overcoming physical and / or psychological barriers.
