Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and proactive individual with a passion for using data to identify and make improvements and great interpersonal skills to apply for the position of Quality and Improvement Officer for the Trauma and Neuro Group at University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire (UHCW) NHS Trust.

The post-holder will work closely with clinical colleagues within the group specialities (Neurology, Neurosurgery, Stroke, Neurophysiology, Plastic Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Orthopaedics, and Major Trauma). They will support with facilitation of multiple quality aspects with the clinical teams including clinical audits, guidelines, incidents, risks, complaints and mortality reviews. They will also support with data analysis and data quality, create reports, and present data to speciality committees.

This is an integral role in supporting the performance of the group; the post holder will work closely with the group's Quality and Data team to support the delivery of key performance indicators and provide high quality project, service and administrative support including information, analysis and report writing. The post holder will also deputise for the Assistant Project Manager where needed and have oversight over processes within the team.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will work closely an in collaboration with clinical, operational, and administrative colleagues within the group specialities (Neurology, Neurosurgery, Stroke, Neurophysiology, Plastic Surgery, Cardiothoracic Surgery, Orthopaedics, and Major Trauma). They will work closely with the group's Quality and Data team to support the delivery of key performance indicators and provide high quality project, service and administrative support including information, analysis and report writing. The post holder will also deputise for the Assistant Project Manager where needed, and have oversight over processes within the team.

They will also act as a central point of contact for Quality and Governance within the Trauma and Neuro group, resolving queries and ensuring reported KPI's are met. To identify issues and root causes in collaboration with the specialities to develop new standard practices.

1. To ensure an effective internal governance framework and communication system within the group

2. To ensure standards for clinical data and quality metrics within the group are met.

3. To continually contribute to the group's patient and business improvement agendas.

4. Provide support for specialities and governance leads to drive the quality agenda and ensure improvement in performance across all of the Trust's quality metrics.
