An exciting opportunity has opened for an ambitious, dynamic and enthusiastic AHCS registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join the cardiovascular rehabilitation team at UHCW NHS Trust. We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with evidence of working at a senior clinical exercise physiologist level to join our dynamic and high performing multi-disciplinary cardiovascular rehabilitation service. At UHCW, the cardiovascular rehabilitation service is delivered across two outpatient sites - Centre for exercise and health, Coventry and St Cross Hospital, Rugby. We are in the fortunate position to have excellent facilities across both sites (bespoke rehabilitation gyms, clinical rooms). This multi-site service offers cardiovascular rehabilitation to the following groups of patients - STEMI, NSTEMI, Revasc, HFrEF, HFpEF and PAD across the patient recovery pathway.

Main duties of the job
This post requires a skilled and motivated clinician with a breadth of experience in patient assessment and exercise prescription across a range of chronic conditions. The successful candidate will be joining an existing multi-disciplinary team (specialist nurses, clinical exercise physiologists, exercise specialists, dietitians, pharmacist, NHS Talking Therapies and admin staff). The successful candidate will provide an evidence-based service to our users,and be involved in the development of quality initiatives including standards of the multi morbidity rehabilitation programme, patient care, clinical audit, monitoring of service provision and clinical research.

- Lead and conduct functional capacity tests to establish physical capabilities and develop tailored programmes of exercise suitable to the service users needs and limitations
- Lead and conduct complex clinical assessments and risk stratification
- Have the ability to travel across sites to deliver cardiovascular rehabilitation (Centre for Exercise & Health Coventry & Hospital of St Cross, Rugby)
- Lead and deliver educational talks, such as exercise, goal setting and nutrition across all our programmes of care (ACS, Heart Failure and PAD).
- Lead and deliver the exercise-based cardiovascular rehabilitation sessions.
- Supervise exercise rehabilitation sessions in line with service policies and procedures and according to t the service users personal plan.
- Lead service user progress, through the relevant stages of the programme and provide appropriate information and advice at each stage.
- Monitor and progress complex service users undergoing cardiovascular rehabilitation evaluating their condition and adapting their programme as necessary within department standards and protocols seeking senior assistance as required.
- Ensure all records associated with cardiovascular rehabilitation are maintained in accordance with the Code of Conduct and Caldicott principles.
