Job summary

The Information Governance Unit are looking for a dynamic, hard-working, individual to join our busy Information Governance Unit. Candidates must have excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills. Experience of minute taking and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is a must. The successful applicant will form part of a hardworking team and be expected to partake in weekly presentations and audits.

Main duties of the job

1. To provide the daily operation of Registration Authority (RA), Role Based Access Control (RBAC), and Position Based Access Control (PBAC).2. To co-ordinate a personal electronic diary with other RA/IG team staff diaries in order to ensure adequate cover for the RA function to ensure an efficient and timely RA service to all users.3. To support users, face to face, by telephone and by e-mail.4. RA Agent duties involve:

  • registering users for smartcards
  • checking proofs of identity in line with national policy
  • taking photographs of users
  • troubleshooting and resolving smartcard issues
  • revoking or amending access rights as requeste
  • running reports from the National Spine

Job description

Job responsibilities

  1. To maintain a complete, documented and robust documentation trail for all RA and RBAC/PBAC processes which complies with national and local guidance.
  2. To assist the RA Manager to meet Information Governance (IG) standards, by undertaking IG training, giving advice to users, auditing RA paperwork and responding to any other reasonable request made by the RA Manager
  3. To ensure good communications are established and maintained with all smartcard users.
  4. To contribute to the development of workshops, presentations, awareness sessions, etc. to be delivered across the Trust, which inform staff of the RA requirements and the role of RBAC/PBAC.
  5. Any other duties required by the RA Manager.
  6. As part of the Information Governance Unit, to undertake other IG related tasks as required.
  7. To provide cover for colleagues during periods of leave to ensure the smooth running of the RA service for the Trust.
  8. To provide a RA service to St Cross Hospital Rugby, by being onsite and providing support to users of smartcards.
  9. To attend meetings as required and provide administrative support by taking minutes, producing papers, bookings meetings, and communicating meeting details to all attendees.
  10. To train users as and when required in the use of a smartcard, and also national Information Governance training online.
  11. Participate in team, professional and personal development activities and promote a commitment to continuous development and improvement.
  12. Participate in appraisals and personal reviews and work to achieve agreed set objectives.
  13. Undertake any other duties commensurate with this grade and nature of the post as allocated by the Manager
