Main duties of the job

  • To be an integral part of the Planned Community Therapy Leadership Team, providing specialist professional management/supervision for Speech and Language Therapists within the team.
  • To provide advanced speech and language therapy assessment treatments and review for patients referred into the service with speech, language, communication, and swallowing needs. This will be for patients predominantly in their place of residence but will include clinic and other settings.
  • To provide expert advice and guidance to patients, carers, health and social care professionals from across multiple providers internal and external to the organisation.
  • To be involved in identifying gaps in the service and assisting with service improvement to develop the service in line with national and local strategies.
  • To support and contribute toward service development and meeting Key Performance Indicators.
  • To undertake and support specialist professional development of the staff within the service and across the Integrated Community Services as required.
