Job summary
This post holder will be a key member of the Medical Education team. The post holder will be based at Clinical Sciences Building. They will provide a diverse and innovative range of support, on all AV and related ICT systems applications and other necessary equipment, to aid learning, teaching, and administration. The role will be to support the Medical Education ICT and AV Manager preparing the educational spaces in the CSB and the rest of UHCW by providing AV and ICT operational support services to users.
The post holder will be responsible for supporting the IT Team within the Medical Education Department. You will be required to prepare the room and the equipment according to the specifications for each event. This could include equipment for:
- video-conferencing
- sound
- lighting
- projection
- recording

Main duties of the job
Ensure all the equipment is in good working order and is set up as required.
- Operate equipment such as sound or lighting
- Adjust equipment
- Test microphones
- Answer queries and deal with problems
- Do minor repairs to equipment such as changing bulbs for projection equipment.
- Help ensure all activities are carried out within a quality framework and meet regulatory requirements.
- Help produce technical material (e.g. graphics, PowerPoint slides and promotional material) and instructional material for the safe and proper use of ICT and AV equipment.

Service Delivery
To be responsible for and carry out the following range of tasks unsupervised:
- To help set up and support ICT and AV Manager in the operation of ICT audio-visual equipment and systems.
- Support ICT and AV Manager with the installation, setup, test and maintenance of AV and ICT equipment including PCs and peripherals. Including the installation of software, hardware, and upgrades.
- Implement audio visual equipment and ICT systems policies as directed.
- Monitor any loan equipment ensuring equipment is returned on time and checked appropriately.
- Help monitor stock levels and provide maintenance and support of electronic equipment.
- The post holder will be responsible for ensuring that all ICT and audio-visual equipment requested by the customer/user is available as requested on the day. This may include working out of hours, early mornings, during the evenings and occasionally at weekends.
Communication
- Responsible for the provision of expert advice on all ICT and audio-visual equipment. Ensuring that the customer/user is guided accordingly to use the ICT and audio-visual equipment.
- To provide basic training to customers/users to ensure that their events run smoothly.
Responsibility for Human Resources
- Ensure compliance with Trust HR and other policies and procedures e.g. mandatory training attendance, Personal development, and appraisals, etc
Data Management and Analysis
- Comply with Trust policies on the management of data and information
Professional Development
- Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
